I wanted to write a testimonial regarding my experience with Jamie Mincy. Jamie home schooled my son, Richie, for almost 3 years.

This home schooling experience proved life changing for my son. Jamie's teaching abilities really became apparent as all of these children began to learn to read, write and do math problems from the age of 4 to 5.  Jamie provided a strong phonically taught foundation for reading.  Richie went on to elementary school as an avid kindergarten reader. Richie was clearly an exception in his kindergarten classrooom.  By 1st grade, Richie was reading chapter books of over 100 pages on a daily basis.  His 1st grade teach called me in and suggested that I put Richie into a private school or move to a better school district as Richie was bored and not being challenged in his current school.  My decision was to move to North Fulton and I put my son into a highly regarded elementary school in Roswell, GA.  Upon entering 2nd grade Richie was tested and he was reading between a 4th and 5th grade reading level.  Fortunately for us there were other children in this school who had very advanced reading skills.  Richie went on to excel in both middle school and high school.  He was accepted during early admissions to the University of Georgia in 2006 and carried over 30 hours of college credit classes into college.  In college Richie graduated with Honors from the Terry Business School with a degree in Finance.  Richie now works as a Marketing Director of a High Tech star-up company, Cardlytics, located in Midtown Atlanta.

I truly believe that Jamie's ability to teach and encourage Richie to start reading at a very early age is a large part of Richie's success in school and now in his work environment.  I truly believe that the younger a child is taught phonics and challenged in problem solving that more successful that child will be as they enter school.  I would HIGHLY recommend Jamie as a tutor/teacher.
